The Basic Working Principle of A GC System The basic working principle of the hydraulic automatic gauge control system is based on closed-loop control theory. During the process of strip steel rolling, the system collects key parameters such as thickness, rolling force, and roll gap of the strip steel in real time through various sensors installed on the rolling mill. These sensors convert the collected signals into electrical signals and transmit them to the core of the control system, which is the controller. The controller of the AGC system calculates and analyzes through complex algorithms based on the preset thickness target value and the actual parameters collected. When the actual thickness of the strip steel deviates from the target value, the controller will issue control commands to drive the hydraulic actuator to act. The hydraulic actuator adjusts the roll gap of the rolling mill to change the rolling pressure of the steel strip, thereby achieving precise adjustment of the thickness of the steel strip. The entire process forms a closed-loop feedback system, continuously monitoring and adjusting the thickness of the strip steel to ensure that it remains within the target range at all times. For example, when the sensor detects that the thickness of the strip steel is slightly greater than the target value, the controller will instruct the hydraulic actuator to reduce the roll gap, increase the rolling pressure, and further thin the strip steel during the rolling process until it reaches the target thickness. On the contrary, when the thickness of the strip steel is less than the target value, the controller will instruct to increase the roll gap and decrease the rolling pressure. A GC System: Closed Loop Control of Roller Gap Position (A PC ) The closed-loop control of roll gap position is one of the key technologies of hydraulic automatic gauge control system . It monitors the position of the rolling mill in real-time through high-precision displacement sensors and feeds back the actual roll gap value to the controller. The controller precisely controls the hydraulic actuator based on the preset target value of the roller gap, achieving precise adjustment of the roller gap. During the rolling process of the AGC system , the roll gap may change due to factors such as roll wear, temperature changes, and fluctuations in rolling force. The APC system can detect these changes in a timely manner and quickly adjust the hydraulic actuator to maintain the roll gap at the set value. This is crucial for ensuring the stability of the thickness of the strip steel. For example, in the continuous rolling process of the AGC system , as the rolling rolls gradually wear out, the roll gap will gradually increase. If not adjusted in time, the thickness of the strip steel will increase. The APC system can monitor changes in the roll gap in real time, automatically adjust the hydraulic system, compensate for the impact of roll wear, and ensure that the thickness of the strip steel always meets the requirements.
